Health Services and Counseling

Wellness Services, located on the northwest corner of campus in the Wellness Center, delivers high quality care to full and part time Northwest students. Services are included in the cost of tuition and include:

Health Services

Wellness Services provides clinical health services to full- and part-time students. In the fall and spring trimesters, full-time nursing and physician services are offered between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Due to decreased volume demand in the summer, fewer clinic service hours are available.

Counseling

Personal development and counseling services are provided to students at no additional charge, and include:

If your student has a serious or chronic, physical or mental health condition, please contact Wellness Services at 660.562.1348 so we can work together to ensure your student has the resources needed to be successful.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: If my student has an appointment, will they have a copay?

No, office visits are included in the cost of attendance.

Q: Do students have to pay for prescriptions?

Yes, if Wellness Services does not have access to a specific prescription, they will fill it at one of the local pharmacies.

Q: Are there walk-in hours?

There are no designated walk-in times. Scheduled appointments are encouraged. If time and space is available, and your student arrives at the Wellness Center without an appointment, they will be seen by a nurse.

Q: What does my student do if there is an emergency outside clinic hours?

If a student has an emergency outside of clinic hours, they should call University Police at 660.562.1254.

Q: Who do I call if I haven't heard from my student in a while and I can't get a hold of them?

If you haven't heard from your student, you can call University Police at 660.562.1254 and they will do a wellness check.

Q: What healthy eating options are available, or who do I contact if I notice my student's eating habits have changed since attending Northwest.
